Leadership development felt by the whole team.
Needs Driven Leadership helps leaders read what a team needs right now, competence, connection, meaning or safety, and respond to it.
A proven way to develop leaders that shows up in the work.
What counts is what changes in practice: how your teams work together, and what your company delivers. It starts with reading what a team needs, and leading to it.
The third generation of leadership development reaches the whole team.
Leadership development moves in generations, and each one kept its value. The third changes where development points: at the team in front of the leader.
Find the leader
Selection. Traits, intelligence, character. It answered one question: who should lead.
Train the leader
Development. Styles, competencies, self-awareness. It answers a second question: how to lead. Most programmes today still stop at the person.
Lead to what the team needs
Needs Driven Leadership trains the move that reaches the team: read which need is loudest right now, and answer it on purpose.
Built with Erasmus University on everything the first two generations proved.
What does this team need right now to reach its full potential.
Almost always, it comes down to four human needs. A leader's job is to read which one the moment calls for, and lead to it.
People do their best work when they feel capable, and see it land. Performance answers that: give people a target they understand and the conditions to hit it.
People do their best work when they feel they belong, and matter to those around them. People answers that: invest in relationships strong enough to survive disagreement.
People do their best work when they understand why it matters. Progress answers that: point at a future worth moving toward, and help people grow into it.
People do their best work when the ground under them is solid. Principle answers that: keep your word often enough that people stop needing to check.
Not another model. A compass for the ones you already use.
Built on the shoulders of years of research. It gives transformational, servant, situational and authentic leadership each a place, so what your leaders already learned keeps its value.

A six-month path from insight to habit, mapped out for you.
Seven days in the room, coaching and peers in the weeks between, and one real I Commit project carried the whole way through.
Scan & intake
A two-hour virtual kick-off, the NDL Leadership Scan, and a one-to-one intake with your facilitator to agree direction and personal goals.
Retreat
Two consecutive days away from daily work. Leaders explore the patterns that shape how they lead, define their leadership purpose, and commit to one real I Commit project.
Performance & People
Two training days on leading others. First clarity, accountability and hard conversations, then connection and psychological safety.
Progress & Principle
Two training days on leading the organisation. First vision, storytelling and stakeholders, then holding values under pressure.
Harvest & Grow
A closing day where leaders present what actually changed, with their manager invited. A fresh Leadership Scan makes the shift visible across the six months.
Every journey starts with a baseline: each leader's canvas, plus a 360 from the people around them. At closing, both run again. What changed sits in front of you, in black and white.
See your leadership strengths clearly, free, in 15 minutes.
The Leadership Canvas is a short, free look at how someone leads across the four P's, surfacing their natural strengths and where they have room to grow. No account, no sales call. It's the same instrument the programme itself is built around.

Fits your context
Builds the journey around your sector, your leaders and your goals.
Stays past the workshop
Retreat, training days, coaching and peer groups, all tied to each leader's I Commit project.
Proves the shift, and holds it
A closing canvas and a fresh 360 show what changed, then help it stick.
Let leaders rehearse the hard conversation before it counts.
The real work happens face to face, in the retreat and the training days. Between sessions, an online platform carries assignments and personalised content, and an AI Avatar gives leaders a private space to rehearse a hard conversation before they have it with a real person.
- A learning platform with assignments built around each leader
- An AI Avatar for rehearsing feedback, delegation and coaching conversations privately
- Accountability coaching between sessions, to carry intention into action
What changes for the leader, the team and the business.
For the leader
- Notices what a team needs to do its best work, and acts on it early.
- Moves deliberately between the four P's instead of defaulting to one.
- Stays steady when a team pushes back or a situation turns emotional.
For the team
- More safety, more connection, more ownership.
- Collaboration that survives change instead of breaking under it.
- Results that don't cost the team its energy.
For the organisation
- One leadership language, used at every level.
- Development that shows up in delivery, not only in a training log.
- A result you can point to when it's time to invest again.
Two tensions every leader learns to hold.
Lean too hard on results and connection wears thin. Lean too hard on connection and direction drifts. Progress and principle pull against each other the same way. Leaders learn to read which side the moment needs and lean in deliberately. Used like this, Needs Driven Leadership is a compass: it shows where a team is out of balance, and which strength to lead with next.
Everything you need to know before you decide.

Who is this for?
Leaders, team coaches and L&D teams who want the development to reach the whole team, not only the person in the room. Works for one intact leadership team, or a cohort pulled together across the business.
What's actually involved, week to week?
About six months: a virtual kick-off and Leadership Scan, an individual intake, a two-day retreat, four training days, and a closing Harvest and Grow day. Coaching, peer groups and a buddy trio run in between, and each leader carries one I Commit project the whole way through.
Where does the science come from?
Needs Driven Leadership was built with Professor Hannes Leroy of Erasmus University, drawing on more than a century of leadership research, connecting models like transformational, servant, transactional, authentic and situational leadership around four human needs.
Do we have to drop what our leaders already learned?
No. Needs Driven Leadership gives each existing model a place on the compass, so earlier training keeps its relevance.
How do you know it's actually working?
Leaders map their balance on the Leadership Canvas at the start, optionally with a 360 from peers and reports. A closing canvas and a fresh 360 make the shift visible across the journey.
What languages do you run this in?
The diagnostic and platform run in English, Dutch and German. The programme itself runs in English or Dutch.
